Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00), Weekend coverage: Every other weekend

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a telemetry/medical surgical unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care to adults and geriatric patients with conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule outs. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient statuses, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings
• Administer medications and perform necessary treatments
• Manage central and peripheral IV lines
• Provide care for patients in respiratory distress, including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula management
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
• Conduct patient assessments and document care accurately in the Epic system
• Educate patients and their families on care plans and necessary follow-up

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on telemetry or medical surgical
• Current NY State RN license in hand
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory
• Ability to provide care in high-stress situations and maintain quality standards
