Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shifts

Schedule

Night shift, 3 shifts per week, includes every 3rd weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient by collaborating with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, providing direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs such as supplies and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.
• Engage in professional growth and development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
