Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, including days and nights, with every other weekend required (3x12s). Floating to Adolescent and Geriatric Behavioral Health units is also necessary.
Job Description
The Travel Behavioral Health Registered Nurse will be responsible for managing clinical and other activities within the assigned unit(s). The nurse will implement the philosophy, goals, and standards of the Department of Nursing while formulating and monitoring capital, personnel, and operating budgets. The role includes directing staffing and scheduling of personnel, supervising employees in the delivery of care, and coordinating orientation and educational needs of the staff. The nurse must promote positive public relations as a representative of the Nursing Department and ensure a good working relationship with other disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the delivery of care within the Behavioral Health unit.
- Ensure staff education, orientation, and compliance with established protocols.
- Manage staffing and scheduling to maintain optimum patient care.
- Direct and promote positive public relations and collaboration with healthcare team members.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS certification required.
- Inpatient Adolescent (14-17 years old) psychiatric experience is required.
- De-escalation training/certification required; attendees may participate in onsite SAFE Training Course if necessary.
