Shift hours vary between 6:30 AM - 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM on weekends.
Job Description
The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, preparing and administering contrast media and/or medications, and monitoring patient conditions continually.
Responsibilities
- Review patient history and physician's orders.
- Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exams.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications, when ordered.
- Monitor patient conditions and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepare equipment and supplies; select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
- Analyze results and identify issues with image quality; take appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Maine State Radiologic Technologist license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred.
