Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is effectively implemented. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while focusing on patient and employee safety. This position embraces the core values of teamwork, resourcefulness, and superior quality in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis.
• Provide timely patient information and status during team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and offer direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining a positive work environment.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and pursue professional development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific unit requirement).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts.
