Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) with a patient ratio of 1:5. Requires working every other weekend.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Float Team. This role entails providing nursing care to pediatric patients in various departments including Ped Heme/Onc (no chemo/infusions), pediatrics, adolescents, newborn nursery, and Special Care Nursery (SCN). The nurse will also take Med/Surg assignments across all areas, including PICU, NICU, and Peds ED.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care in accordance with established standards and practices.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions.
- Perform procedures such as IV starts, transfusions, and respiratory treatments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Document patient care activities in the electronic health record.
- Float between different units based on staffing needs while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1.5 years of Pediatric nursing experience.
- Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at the time of submission.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; APHON preferred.
- Experience with IV pumps, pulse oximeters, and cardiac monitoring is a must.
