Description

Registered Nurse - Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00 - 7:30)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float pool position covering Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (no chemo/infusions), pediatrics, adolescents, newborn nursery, and Special Care Nursery (SCN).
May also take Med/Surg assignments across various areas including PICU, NICU, and Pediatric Emergency Department.
Patient ratio approximately 1:5.
Weekend work required every other weekend.
Block scheduling is not approved.
Locals and first-time travelers are accepted.
Time off requests must be submitted with application and approved before offer.
Experience required with IV pumps, pulse oximeters, cardiac monitoring, IVs, TPN, G-tube, trach tubes, central lines, Foley catheters, NG tubes, respiratory treatments, transfusions, and pre/post-op care.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Jersey.
Minimum 1.5 years of float experience, including float experience within the last year.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
IV Certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Pediatrics experience.
