Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients, specifically focusing on medical surgical and urology surgical patients. The nurse will monitor telemetry patients with a patient ratio of 1:6 and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy as prescribed.
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and symptoms.
- Provide support for continuous bladder irrigation and management of stroke patients.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care with interdisciplinary support teams.
- Float to various hospitals within the healthcare system as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical surgical/telemetry nursing.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Must pass a dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing the contract.
- Active state RN license is required at the time of submission.
- Experience with Epic charting system is required.
