Job Description
Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs all CT procedures and operates computed tomography and radiography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. This role involves preparing the examination area, positioning patients for procedures, and adjusting imaging equipment settings for various examinations within the CT department. The technologist assists physicians during exams and prepares patients, handling all computed tomography, data processing, and ancillary equipment as required.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and select proper techniques and protocols using ALARA principles to safeguard patients and staff.
- Assist physicians with medical instruments, the administration of contrast materials, and medications.
- Transfer image data to PACS and V-RAD environments for physician review and interpretation.
- Maintain accurate records and technical notations on each case to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the work area and manage stock and supplies for procedures.
- Draw blood and introduce IVs as per established procedures.
- Assist in scheduling and managing the flow of CT examinations to optimize equipment and personnel utilization.
- Instruct radiologic technology students and other personnel on CT equipment and operations, participating in educational programs as needed.
- Perform clerical tasks such as retrieving radiographic records, answering phones, and registering patients.
Required Experience / Certifications
- 2+ years of recent CT Technologist experience.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- COVID-19 vaccination required; declinations not accepted.
- Must be willing to work the facility's schedule; no scheduling restrictions accepted.
- Previous travel experience is preferred; locals accepted.
