Job Description
The Outpatient Occupational Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs, goals, and physician direction. This role is responsible for delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate a return to community activities.
Responsibilities
- Completes comprehensive evaluations for all assigned patients.
- Utilizes clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Documents all patient interactions clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner.
- Ensures care is provided under signed, valid physician orders.
- Participates in student supervision and development of learning objectives.
- Actively pursues professional development and continuing education.
- Adheres to state practice acts and maintains professional licensure in good standing.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must have hand therapy experience and be comfortable making splints.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- CPR Certification required.
- Active State Occupational Therapy license.
