Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule

This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule with varying shifts of either 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. No weekends, no call, and no holidays required.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients about procedures and ensuring their understanding and cooperation. Responsibilities include positioning patients and performing imaging procedures in compliance with age-related needs and care provisions to ensure high-quality imaging results. This role involves performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable standards and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient information and develop appropriate care plans based on patient age and understanding.
• Perform imaging procedures while ensuring image quality and addressing any issues with the imaging results.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
• Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
• Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• CT certified with PET/CT experience.
• ARRT CT certification or Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) with certification in Nuclear Medicine (NM) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current New York State License.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nuclear medicine technology.
