Job Description
The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex CT procedures and maintain workflow in a busy environment.
- Review and document patient clinical history and contrast questionnaire in EPIC.
- Identify and/or administer contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Verify the appropriateness of CT exam prescriptions with Radiologists and Referring Physicians.
- Ensure insurance authorization and modifications as needed.
- Obtain outside studies and manage their integration into PACS and EPIC.
- Evaluate radiographs ensuring proper identification and diagnostic value.
- Prepare patients for scanning, including necessary shielding and immobilization.
- Perform venipuncture and monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Provide patient education and support throughout the exam process.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- At least 2 years of experience in CT; 5 years preferred.
- Experience with GE Equipment, Epic EMR, and Fuji PACS is required.
- Must be willing to work in dual modalities (Xray & CT).
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
