Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery / Postpartum

Schedule

Nights 7 PM - 7 AM, Every 3rd Weekend. Required to work in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum on a rotational basis. If the healthcare professional is lowed, they are considered "on-call" for the remainder of the shift and must arrive within 30 minutes if called in.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role is a professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and education, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. The RN acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, collaborating with other healthcare team members. Responsibilities include assisting in the orientation process of new personnel and participating in health center and department committees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, including safety and educational needs.
• Establish collaborative plans of care based on assessment data and communicate these plans as appropriate.
• Implement and evaluate plans of care based on identified patient goals, adjusting the plan based on reassessment of patient status.
• Complete documentation according to established standards.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and implement individualized education plans according to needs.
• Participate in departmental initiatives, including in-service opportunities and committee involvement.
• Provide age-appropriate care for specific populations served, following established policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• At least 3 years of experience working in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and/or OB nursing.
• Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications.
