Job Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing diagnostic imaging services by performing high-quality CT scans in accordance with physician orders. This position involves close interaction with patients and the medical team to ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans, explaining procedures to ensure comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary for tests.
• Position patients safely, utilizing safe handling techniques for those with limited mobility.
• Maintain accurate patient records within EPIC, ensuring images are correctly sent to the PACS system.
• Keep the scanning facility clean and safe.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current HCP registration in NYS with injection therapy certification required.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting position).
• Minimum of two (2) years of CT experience, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
