Job Description
The Registered Sleep Technologist works under the direct supervision of the lead sleep technologist, engaging in various responsibilities related to in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, patient care, and educational support. The role involves critical functions in the preparation, execution, and analysis of sleep studies to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for sleep studies by reviewing patient charts and ensuring proper patient identification.
- Set up sleep studies, applying electrodes and sensors as per AASM recommendations and explaining procedures to patients.
- Conduct sleep studies, focusing on quality and delivering exceptional patient care, both in-center and out-of-center.
- Analyze and score sleep studies to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment and patient rooms, perform routine maintenance, and restock supplies.
- Demonstrate ongoing competency in scoring, meeting AASM ISR monthly requirements.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate from an accredited education program in polysomnography or respiratory care.
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Two years of relevant experience required.
- State licensure as applicable (e.g., PA, NY, MD).
Schedule
This position operates on a Day Shift schedule, consisting of 12-hour shifts across 3 days per week.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
