Friday - Sunday, 7 PM - 7:30 AM EST, with holidays and on-call responsibilities.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will confirm patient identity and verify exams prior to initiating scans, ensuring patient safety while adhering to department policies. Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians for diagnostic imaging, preparing patients for scans, and explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety. The role may involve inserting IVs, positioning patients safely, and maintaining a clean and safe scanning environment.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to scans.
• Coordinate with physicians for necessary diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans, ensuring comfort and understanding of procedures.
• Perform IV insertions as needed.
• Position patients appropriately, using safe handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within EPIC.
• Ensure all images are identified and sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Keep scanning facilities clean and safe for patient use.

Required Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Proficiency with Siemens and Philips CT equipment preferred.
• Experience using the EPIC documentation system is highly desired.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current licensure as a CT Technologist in New York State.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
• Injection therapy certification is preferred and must be obtained during the orientation process.
