Short Description

Seeking a skilled CT/Radiologic Technologist with ARRT certification, active NYS License, and minimum 1 year of CT experience along with strong Radiography/X-Ray or C-Arm experience.

Position Summary

The CT/Radiologic Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic radiographic and CT procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper radiation protection. This role requires strong technical skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to work with patients across all age groups—from infants to geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT and radiographic procedures according to provider orders and departmental protocols.

• Operate imaging equipment accurately and efficiently including radiographic, CT, image processors, and portable diagnostic equipment.

• Evaluate images for quality, positioning accuracy, and diagnostic value.

• Maintain proficiency and competency in at least two imaging modalities.

• Provide clear instructions to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure proper cooperation during procedures.

• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines, including the use of collimation, shielding, and approved techniques.

• Participate in emergency call rotation on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Document and manage exams in RIS/PACS, including entering orders, charges, scanning, and maintaining patient records.

• Perform studies with and without IV contrast, including: brain, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, spine, facial bones, and extremities.

• Follow NYSDOH Part 16 radiation safety regulations.

• Conduct required quality control (QC) activities and maintain infection control practices per Universal Precautions.

• Support departmental efficiency and patient flow through teamwork and professional communication.

Qualifications

Required:

• ARRT Certification (CT and Radiography)

• Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License

• Minimum 1 year CT experience and strong Rad Tech/X-Ray experience OR C-Arm experience

• BLS Certification (AHA preferred)

Working Conditions

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids is reasonably anticipated.

• Position requires standing, walking, and assisting patients during procedures.
