Weekend Rotation Every other weekend
Holiday Requirements Travelers will work 75% of holidays Floating Requirements Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

- Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Unit Information
- Beds: 16 beds, all private rooms - 0 negative pressure capability
- Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Cardiac Tele RN or PCU RN experience
- First-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses
- CV Surgery, Heart Failure, Chest pain, Cardiac Cath pre/post, management of TR bands, AFB
- IV medication: Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Milrinone, Diltiazem, IV Sotalol
- Medical overflow
Patient Ratios
- RN: 1:4
Required License, National Certification, Certs
- PCU/MedTele RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills Required
- PIV starts, NG Tube placement/management, Pleurx drains
- Management of various surgical drains, chest tube management
Support within the Department
- CNA's - assist nursing team with ADL's, bathing, foley care, mobility, turning and repositioning
- Phlebotomy - Combined effort between RNs, CNA's
- IV/VAT Team - Yes
- Resource Nurse - when staffing allows
- RT 24/7 - assigned to multiple units
- Hospitalist 24/7 - Yes, not unit based
- Telemetry monitoring - All patients require telemetry monitoring
Technology/Equipment
- EMR: Epic
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: Phillips
- Unit specific equipment: Bladder scanner, EKG machine, transport monitor, vein finder, Sara Stedy, lifts
Floating
- Within region and scope of practice
- Will be required to float per region needs
- Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only))
- If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities
Orientation (facility and unit)
- NEO
- 2 days departmental
Scheduling
- Weekend rotation: every other
- No call
- Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
- RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

- Unit Culture: Team oriented and must utilize the D/C unit for patients meeting criteria. Fast paced unit with up to 6-8 discharges in a day shift.
