Location: Philadelphia, PA
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: 7:00pm-7:00am
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required
Job Summary
Client is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join its 29-bed Emergency Department located in the historic district of downtown Philadelphia. The ED manages more than 36,000 patient visits annually, providing emergency care to a diverse patient population across multiple specialties. This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable RN with strong emergency nursing skills who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to emergency department patients with a wide range of acute and critical medical conditions.
- Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions according to physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and patient charting.
- Respond quickly to medical emergencies while maintaining high-quality patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania RN License (or Compact License if applicable)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS (AHA) Certification
- ACLS (AHA) Certification
- PALS (AHA) Certification (preferred/required per facility)
- Strong emergency assessment and critical thinking skills
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work Days, Evenings, and Night shifts during the 8-week assignment
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
- Must be flexible with scheduling based on department needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Experience using Epic EMR
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency care environment
