HOSPITAL: Med City Dallas
LOCATION: Dallas, TX
Shift Type: Night Shift
Shift Time: Start Time: 07:00 PM End Time: 07:00 AM
UNIT NAME: MICU
CLASSIFICATION: RN – ICU

GENERAL INFORMATION

SHIFT DETAILS

  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks

  • Shift/Workdays: -

  • Weekend Requirements: Rotating

  • Call Requirements: No

  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours

  • Special Skills/Experience Required: 2 years

UNIT SPECIFICS

  • Unit Staffing: Assignments based on acuity and skills

  • Equipment:

    • ICU ventilators

    • NxStage

    • Arctic Sun

    • Client Cardiac Output Monitor

    • Other standard ICU equipment

  • Documentation System: Meditech

  • Floating Policy: As needed

HOSPITAL SPECIFICS

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CCRN preferred

HIRING PROFILE

MUST HAVE:

  • 2 years of MICU/MSICU experience

  • BLS

  • ACLS
  • ​NIH Certification

PREFERRED / ADVANCED SKILLS:

  • Meditech experience preferred

SPECIALTY / UNIT CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Active Texas RN license

  • Temporary licenses will not be accepted

PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON UNIT

  • Central line placements

  • Bedside thoracentesis

  • Dialysis catheter placements

  • Cardioversions

  • Intubations

  • Other ICU procedures

PATIENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • MICU/MSICU experience

DRESS CODE

RN SCRUB COLOR:

  • Royal blue scrubs

NAIL POLICY:

  • Nails must be clean and healthy

  • No artificial nails, gel, NextGen, etc.

HAIR:

  • Hair must be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors

  • Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed

  • Hair must be pulled back if shoulder-length or longer when working in the lab

TATTOOS:

  • Body art should be covered whenever possible

  • Body art that cannot be covered daily will be addressed individually

PIERCINGS:

  • Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited

  • Includes nose rings, tongue rings, etc.

UNIT GUIDELINES / POLICIES

FLOATING GUIDELINES:

  • As needed

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

  • Company-wide attendance policy will be followed.
