The Nursing Clinical Educator provides clinical education leadership within a Level 1 Trauma Center to support safe, evidence‑based nursing practice across assigned departments. This role designs, implements, and evaluates education strategies that support onboarding, competency validation, regulatory readiness, and continuous professional development. The Nursing Clinical Educator aligns education initiatives with organizational priorities, Magnet standards, and adult learning principles while maintaining clinical credibility through direct patient care.

• Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs, including orientation, competency‑based education, mandatory education, and practice change initiatives. 
• Support transition‑to‑practice through structured orientation oversight, preceptor development, and ongoing assessment of learner progression. 
• Conduct formal and informal learning needs assessments to identify practice gaps and develop targeted education interventions. 
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to support regulatory readiness, accreditation requirements, and Magnet standards. 
• Evaluate effectiveness of education initiatives using outcome data, learner feedback, and quality indicators. 
• Serve as an internal consultant and subject matter expert for assigned clinical areas. 
• Facilitate student clinical experiences and serve as liaison with academic partners. 
• Provide bedside re‑education and just‑in‑time training as needed to support safe clinical practice. 
• Deliver direct patient care a minimum of eight hours per month to maintain clinical competence and credibility. Support clinical ladder activities and promotion of national certification.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) required.

Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida and three years of clinical nursing experience required. 

MSN or Certification in specialty approved for the ANCC Magnet requirement.

Acute care experience required, high-acuity or trauma experience.

Experience in clinical education, preceptorship, or competency validation.

• Advanced knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and competency‑based education methodologies. 

• Strong clinical expertise in acute care nursing, with the ability to apply evidence‑based practice in high‑acuity and trauma environments. 

• Proficiency in clinical performance evaluation, including learner assessment, gap analysis, and outcomes measurement.

•  Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and Magnet standards impacting nursing education and professional practice. 

• Ability to translate quality, safety, and performance data into effective education strategies. 

• High‑level critical thinking and clinical judgment, including decision‑making in complex or emergent situations. 

• Advanced facilitation and presentation skills for diverse clinical audiences. 

• Strong consultation, coaching, and influence skills to support practice change and professional development.

•  Ability to manage multiple education initiatives simultaneously while meeting operational and regulatory deadlines. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support education delivery and tracking.
