ID: 64208966 Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM OR 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Clinical Therapist II at East Mountain Youth L Description: Job Summary:The Clinical Therapist II ,EMYL provides clinical and therapeutic services to East Mountain Youth Lodge residents and their families. Completes Joint Care Reviews and Strength and Needs assessments with all documentation in adherence to all standards.Job Responsibilities:-The requisite SUD treatment experience with youth should demonstrates:-Use of integrated assessment approach that results in highly individualized and holistic treatment plans-the use of trauma informed evidence-based practices that assist youth and young adults inidentifying and changing patterns of behavior related to substance use.-the delivery of psycho-educational groups supportive of age appropriate pro-social learning, problem solving, life-skill development, and coping strategies-Completes relevant social assessment.-Provides individual, group and family therapy for residents of the East Mountain Youth Lodge.-Acts as liaison to school therapists regarding coordination of clinical care.-Works closely with Residential Counselors/Technicians to develop treatment goals and strategies for assigned residents.-In conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor, writes treatment plans in accordance with licensing standards.-Writes joint care reviews and strength and needs assessments according to requirements.-Maintains up-to-date, accurate written record of all client and collateral contact.-Works closely with residential psychiatrist to manage medication, obtains informed consent from client and parents, and ensures that all releases and clinical documentation is completed and in order.-Arranges all family contact and furloughs and documents this weekly in communication/pass books.-Attends staff meetings, reports on residents' treatment and educates staff to better deliver services to clients.-Meets weekly for clinical supervision.-Writes discharge summaries, letters, contracts and any other clinical documentation required.-Develops a comprehensive after care recommendation.-Works professionally and cooperatively with all hospital staff and programs.-Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of referral and support services.-Maintains contact with sending districts, Child Study Teams, private therapists and agencies such as DCPP, CMO, probation courts, etc. Facilitates Managed Care Certification when necessary.-Carries a pager one week in a rotation and is on-call for clinical guidance and coverage when necessary.-Assists in preparation, coordination and evaluation of EMYL Clinical policy and procedure.-Assists with interview and orientation of new staff members.-Oversees the clinical area of social work and counseling interns and one staff member and complete-performance evaluations, if applicable.-Assists in the developing and evaluating quality assurance and performance improvement programs.-Attends committee meetings and completes administrative tasks such as Performance Improvement or Clinical Audits.-Provides clinical training and support as needed and directed for EMYL Direct Care Team Members.-Under the Direction of Clinical Manager, develops appropriate Family training and groups for resident's families-Assists other mental health professionals in expediting emergencies and/or functions as co-therapist in special situations.-Presents at professional meeting locally and nationally and prepares materials for publication in professional journals, if applicable-Models the 5 C standards of behavior.-Maintains standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics and Codes of Conduct Policy-Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Meets or exceeds expectations of patients, hospital and staff members, in person or via the telephone in the course of performing assignedaccountabilities. Cases will be on the residential units.Must have a valid driver s licenseSkills: Required Skills & Experience:-Minimum of four (4) years of post MSW and/or Masters of Counseling experience.-Proficiency with policy review and program planning.-Demonstrates leadership abilities.-Trained in individual and group psychotherapy techniques.-Knowledge of psychopathology and differential diagnosis and treatment techniques.Preferred Skills & Experience:-N/A Licenses and Certifications Required:1. NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Professional Counselor License.2. This role includes working with the youth's outside agencies including DCPP, schools, Care Management Organizations through the NJ Children's System of Care. Completing routine treatment plans for insurance authorizations. Provide safety planning and crisis management with other multi-disciplinary teams (nursing, psychiatrists/APN, Youth Techs). There is no scrub color as this is a residential program for adolescents, not a nursing/tech hospital assignment.
