Description
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - School - (RBT - School)
StartDate: 8/24/2026 Available Shifts: 7 D Pay Rate: $1359.00 - $1400.00
This is a school-based Travel Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) opportunity in a K–12 setting located in Fryeburg, Maine. The role offers the chance to build valuable experience in an education-focused environment while enjoying life in one of New England’s most scenic small towns. Fryeburg is known for its classic New England charm, vibrant community spirit, and beautiful natural surroundings. The town sits near mountains, forests, and rivers, providing quick access to outdoor activities in every season. Hiking, biking, kayaking, leaf peeping, and nearby skiing and snow sports are all close at hand. The area offers a peaceful, close-knit community feel with local shops, restaurants, and cultural events, making it attractive for travelers who enjoy a quieter lifestyle with easy access to nature. Despite its small-town atmosphere, you are within reach of larger regional hubs for additional dining, shopping, and entertainment options. In this role, you will work on-site only; telehealth or remote work is not available. The assignment is a full-time, Monday–Friday position, with an expected schedule of approximately 35 hours per week. You will be paid only for hours actually worked. The traveler will not be paid for school holidays, teacher workdays, or days when school is closed for inclement weather, in alignment with school operations. You will support students across K–12 grades under the supervision of a BCBA or other designated clinical supervisor. Your typical day will include implementing individualized behavior intervention plans, supporting students in classrooms and small-group or 1:1 settings, and helping students increase independence and educational engagement. You will collect and record accurate behavior and skills acquisition data throughout the day, assist with reinforcement systems, and support teachers and staff in applying behavior strategies within the classroom routine. The caseload may include students with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and other behavioral or learning needs. You may rotate between classrooms or work intensively with a smaller number of students, depending on the school’s needs. Collaboration is a key part of the role; you will work closely with teachers, special education staff, related services providers, and your supervising clinician to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed. The school community emphasizes a supportive, team-based approach. As a traveler, you can expect to be integrated into established systems and routines, with guidance from experienced educators and clinical staff. The environment is well-suited for RBTs looking to deepen their school-based ABA experience, strengthen their skills in data collection and behavior support, and build a strong resume in a structured educational setting. This position follows the local school schedule, with start and end dates tied to the academic year, but specific calendar dates are still to be determined and are subject to change based on the final school calendar. The role does not include guaranteed work during breaks or closures.
