Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - School - (SLP - School)
StartDate: 8/24/2026 Available Shifts: 7 D Pay Rate: $1972.00 - $2032.00
This travel School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity is located in Bristol, New Hampshire, a scenic, four-season community in the heart of New England. Nestled near beautiful Newfound Lake and within easy reach of the Lakes Region and the White Mountains, Bristol offers a classic small-town New England experience. You can enjoy lakefront activities in warmer months, including boating, swimming, and kayaking, and take advantage of nearby hiking, biking, and leaf-peeping trails in the fall. In the winter, popular ski and snowboard areas are within driving distance, making it easy to enjoy snow sports, cozy local restaurants, and charming downtown shops year-round. This assignment is based in a supportive public-school district that values collaboration, student-centered services, and strong communication with families. As a traveling SLP here, you will join a team that is focused on helping students make meaningful progress in both communication and academic success, with access to school-based resources, multidisciplinary collaboration, and established procedures for special education and related services. There are two full-time travel positions available. One SLP will serve middle school and high school students, and the other SLP will work with elementary students. Across the two schools, there are currently 44 students receiving speech/language services. Caseloads are designed to be manageable and focused, with a mix of direct therapy, evaluations, and IEP responsibilities, allowing you to apply your expertise while still maintaining a sustainable schedule. This is a 35-hour-per-week, on-site, school-year position. Typical hours align with the standard school day, providing a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with evenings and weekends free. The shift is structured to provide consistent daily contact time with students, teachers, and support staff, allowing you to build strong relationships and see measurable progress over the course of the assignment. Core responsibilities include providing direct speech and language therapy services to students on your caseload, both individually and in small groups. You will conduct comprehensive evaluations that may include articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, voice, and social communication, using both standardized assessments and informal tools. You will develop, maintain, and update the speech/language sections of IEPs, including present levels, measurable goals, service minutes, and progress monitoring plans. You will attend IEP meetings as an active member of the multidisciplinary team, sharing evaluation findings, progress updates, and recommendations with families, teachers, and administrators. Regular documentation of therapy sessions and timely completion of progress reports are essential components of this role, in line with district and regulatory requirements. The school environment emphasizes teamwork. You will collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, school psychologists, occupational and physical therapists, and other related service providers to integrate communication goals into the classroom and daily routines. You may provide consultative support to staff on strategies that support speech and language development across school settings. This travel role is ideal for an experienced SLP who enjoys variety in their caseload, wants to gain more school-based experience in a picturesque New England community, and values a balanced workweek aligned with the school schedule. It offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students at both elementary and secondary levels, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of living and working in a friendly, outdoor-oriented town with easy access to lakes, mountains, and year-round recreation.
