This school-based Occupational Therapist travel opportunity is located in Burlington, Illinois, a small but growing community known for its friendly atmosphere, open spaces, and highly regarded schools. This position is based in a K-8 setting, serving school-age students across general education, self-contained, and resource environments. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ functional skills, independence, and educational access while working in a district that values student support services and collaborative practice. Typical responsibilities include: Providing comprehensive OT evaluations for K-8 students referred for services. Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, visual-motor integration, and school-related functional tasks. Delivering therapy through a combination of direct treatment, consultative support, and in-class interventions. Collaborating closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to integrate OT strategies into the classroom. Participating in IEP meetings, contributing to goal development, progress reporting, and family communication. Supporting students in self-contained and resource classrooms with tailored, functional interventions that promote participation and independence. Recommending and training staff and students on adaptive equipment, tools, and environmental modifications. Maintaining thorough, timely documentation aligned with district policies and professional standards. You can expect a full-time schedule of approximately 37.5 hours per week, typically structured as 7.5-hour workdays during regular school hours, Monday through Friday. This predictable daytime schedule supports a strong work-life balance, with evenings and weekends generally free. The caseload will focus on K-8 students, and the district will provide a school-year calendar, with final calendar details to be determined by the district.
