This travel School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity is located in Redding, California, a Northern California community known for its relaxed lifestyle, strong sense of community, and outstanding natural beauty. In this role, you will serve PreK–4th grade students in a school-based setting, providing in-person speech and language services throughout the academic year. The position is a travel contract with a consistent, school-day schedule, ideal for SLPs who value predictable hours and meaningful work within a supportive educational environment. Schedule and structure: Monday: 7:45 a.m.–1:45 p.m. Tuesday–Friday: 7:45 a.m.–2:45 p.m. Approximately 35 hours per week Traditional school-year calendar with school-based breaks (specific dates provided by the district) You will manage a student caseload of up to approximately 55 students, focusing on early elementary learners in general and special education settings. Your work will include a mix of direct therapy, evaluation, and collaboration with teachers and families. The district emphasizes teamwork and student-centered practice, making this a strong fit for clinicians who enjoy integrating therapy into classroom and school routines. Primary responsibilities: Provide in-person speech and language therapy services for PreK–4th grade students, including both individual and small-group sessions Conduct speech and language evaluations, including standardized and informal assessments, to determine eligibility and service needs Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals based on student strengths, needs, and educational impact Participate in, schedule, and lead/attend IEP meetings as an active team member, clearly communicating assessment findings, goals, and progress to families and staff Collaborate closely with teachers, school psychologists, special educators, and related service providers to support classroom success and carryover of skills Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the district’s IEP and data systems, including progress monitoring and service logs Consult with teachers and staff on strategies for speech and language support within the classroom environment Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, offering education and resources as appropriate Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture and support the district’s educational mission Typical day: Review schedule and therapy plans at the start of the day Deliver scheduled therapy sessions (pull-out and/or push-in) for PreK–4th grade students Complete evaluations and write reports as needed Coordinate with teachers regarding student performance, scheduling, and classroom strategies Attend IEP or team meetings as scheduled Document services and progress, and prepare for upcoming sessions This assignment allows you to build valuable school-based experience while enjoying a location that blends city amenities with a remarkable outdoor environment. Required Qualifications
Speech/Language Pathologist, School

Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) or Related Field
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
State License is Required to Start the Assignment


Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in a School Setting, Early Childhood, or Pediatrics
Strong Knowledge of Speech and Language Development, Assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and community members.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with federal and state regulations


Facility Location
Redding is a city located off Interstate 5 and between the Canadian and Mexican borders. The Sacramento River also goes through this city. During the 1950’s there was a great expansion of the lumber industry and two major dams in the Redding area now known as, the “Whiskeytown Dam” and the “Keswick Dam”, were built. During the housing and retail boom of the late 1980’s the population of Redding grew to 66,462.
