The Diagnostic Technologist in the Pain Management Clinic plays a key role in supporting comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients managing acute and chronic pain. This is an excellent opportunity to join a community-focused health system while enjoying the quality of life offered in eastern North Carolina. Located in Ahoskie, North Carolina, this position offers the best of small-town living with convenient access to larger cities and coastal attractions. Ahoskie is known for its welcoming, close-knit community, affordable cost of living, and relaxed pace of life. Residents enjoy local parks, youth sports and recreation at facilities such as nearby recreation centers, community events, and easy access to outdoor activities throughout Hertford and surrounding counties. The town is within a comfortable driving distance of Greenville and other regional hubs, offering shopping, dining, and cultural activities, as well as weekend trips to historic coastal communities and the Outer Banks. The Pain Management Clinic is affiliated with a community hospital that is part of a large, mission-driven regional health system serving more than a million residents in eastern North Carolina. As a Diagnostic Technologist here, you will benefit from the resources of a larger academic and community network while working in a more personal, patient-centered environment. The clinic functions as a referral center for surrounding hospitals and practices, providing access to specialized care for patients from across the region. In this role, you will work closely with pain management physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver safe, accurate, and patient-focused diagnostic imaging in support of interventional procedures. Typical responsibilities may include: Performing diagnostic imaging studies in preparation for or during pain management procedures, following established protocols and safety standards Positioning patients and operating imaging equipment to obtain optimal views for provider review and procedural guidance Assisting providers during imaging-guided injections, nerve blocks, and other interventional pain procedures, including maintaining sterile technique and ensuring equipment readiness Preparing procedure rooms and imaging equipment, verifying patient identity, reviewing orders, and confirming necessary pre-procedure documentation Ensuring accurate documentation of imaging procedures, correct labeling of images, and timely transfer of images into PACS and the EMR Monitoring patients before, during, and after imaging or procedures as directed, recognizing and reporting any changes in patient status to the clinical team Collaborating with nursing and provider staff to maintain efficient clinic flow while prioritizing high-quality, compassionate care Following all radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements The clinic environment typically offers a predictable, weekday schedule in an outpatient setting. Patient volumes are structured, and you will be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values clear communication and mutual respect.
