Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - School - (SLP - School)
StartDate: 8/3/2026 Available Shifts: 7.5 D Pay Rate: $2070.00 - $2133.00
This onsite Speech-Language Pathologist opportunity is based in Oneonta, Alabama, a welcoming small city known for its warm Southern hospitality, strong community ties, and relaxed pace of life. Oneonta offers a charming downtown area, local shops and eateries, and community events throughout the year that give it a classic small-town feel. The area is surrounded by scenic landscapes, rolling hills, and nearby parks, making it ideal for professionals who appreciate outdoor activities, weekend drives, and easy access to nature. Oneonta’s central position in North Alabama allows convenient access to larger metropolitan areas for additional entertainment, dining, and cultural options, while still enjoying the day-to-day benefits of a more affordable, less congested community. Residents often highlight the friendly atmosphere, supportive school systems, and family-oriented environment as key reasons they love living and working here. In this role, you will serve students within a school-based setting, providing onsite services for a standard 37.5-hour workweek. You can expect a caseload that includes a diverse range of ages and communication needs, with opportunities to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic success and social participation. The school environment emphasizes collaboration, with teachers, administrators, and related service staff working together to support students’ individualized needs. Daily responsibilities typically include conducting speech and language evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and participating in eligibility meetings. You will develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEPs, provide direct therapy (both individual and small-group sessions), and monitor student progress with data-driven practices. Collaboration is central to the role: you will consult with classroom teachers to integrate communication goals into classroom activities, communicate regularly with families, and coordinate with other related service providers such as occupational and physical therapists. The setting offers the opportunity to address a wide variety of communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication challenges. You may also have the chance to work with students who use AAC, support students on the autism spectrum, and assist with early intervention or pre-referral processes under RTI/MTSS frameworks. You will be expected to maintain accurate and timely documentation in the district’s electronic systems, including progress reports, Medicaid or third-party billing documentation if applicable, and compliance-related paperwork. The school culture values professionalism, student-centered care, and a supportive team environment. SLPs in this district can often refine their skills in specific areas of interest, such as AAC, autism, or language-literacy, and may find natural opportunities for professional growth through collaboration, mentoring, and exposure to a variety of student profiles. With the stability of a full school year assignment and consistent weekly hours, this role can be a strong addition to your professional experience as a school-based SLP.

Pros
Genevieve has been amazing to work with! This was my first travel assignment that I kind of decided to do on a whim, so I had zero experience or knowledge on how everything worked, but Genevieve has answered any questions that I've had in a timely manner and made everything seamless for me! I will definitely recommend her and work with her on future assignments!
