StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 7.5 D Pay Rate: $1790.00 - $1844.00
This full-time travel Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) opportunity is based in a welcoming school district in Calhoun, Georgia. Calhoun is a charming, growing community in northwest Georgia known for its friendly small-town atmosphere, historic downtown, and convenient access to major cities. Situated along the I-75 corridor, it offers an easy drive to both Atlanta and Chattanooga, making it ideal for travelers who enjoy weekend getaways, dining, shopping, and cultural events. Calhoun and the surrounding Gordon County area provide a variety of outdoor and recreational activities, including nearby parks, trails, and family-friendly attractions. Residents enjoy a blend of quiet suburban living with access to modern amenities, restaurants, and local shops. The community is known for its supportive environment, strong school system reputation, and a family-centered lifestyle. In this role, you will serve elementary students in grades 1–3 in a school-based setting. The primary focus will be articulation and language services. You will provide direct speech and language therapy, conduct evaluations, monitor student progress, and accurately document services. You will also enter information into students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend meetings as appropriate, depending on student needs and district requirements. Typical responsibilities include: Providing individual and small group speech and language therapy to students in grades 1–3 Conducting assessments and evaluations in articulation and language Progress monitoring and maintaining thorough, timely documentation Participating in IEP development by entering present levels, goals, services, and progress data as needed Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and administrators to support student success in the classroom Communicating with families as appropriate to support carryover and understanding of student needs Contributing to a positive, student-centered school culture This is a travel position with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday, following the district’s academic calendar. The candidate will be paid only for hours worked. The traveler will not be paid for school holidays, teacher workdays, or school closures due to inclement weather. There is no option for teletherapy; services are provided on site within the school environment. The school district offers a structured environment that is well-suited for completing a Clinical Fellowship in an educational setting. You will be integrated into a collaborative educational team that may include other SLPs, special education teachers, general education teachers, school psychologists, and related service providers. While the district can provide supervision for the CF, the job description intentionally focuses on your day-to-day responsibilities and the supportive, professional setting in which you will work. A typical day may include: Morning therapy sessions with individual students or small groups Pull-out or push-in services aligned with classroom schedules Midday documentation and progress monitoring Afternoon therapy sessions or make-up sessions IEP-related documentation and occasional meetings depending on individual student needs Patient (student) ratios will be in line with typical school-based caseload expectations for SLPs, and you will have the opportunity to refine your clinical skills across a variety of articulation and language needs. This role is ideal for a Clinical Fellow seeking: Hands-on school-based experience with a consistent caseload of early elementary students An opportunity to build confidence in IEP processes, collaboration, and documentation A supportive team environment in a smaller community with a strong sense of connection A travel-friendly location with easy access to both local charm and larger metro amenities
