Job Summary: CT Technologist (Radiology), Boston, Massachusetts
The CT Technologist role operates computed tomography (CT) equipment under general supervision and established procedures to acquire diagnostic images for physicians use in diagnosis and treatment. This position requires strong patient interaction skills, careful equipment calibration and verification, and completion of radiology workflow documentation to support accurate imaging. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; minimum 36 hours per week. Weekends are required.
- Start Date: 07/19/2026
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology; current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (or equivalent); registered or eligible for certification in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (or equivalent), with successful completion and maintenance of CT certification/registration within one year of start of employment; level 1 trauma experience required; Siemens experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: 23 years of experience as a radiologic technologist, with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses.
- Responsibilities:
- Operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocol, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and use of protective shielding as needed.
- Select appropriate imaging factors and image designated portions of the body.
- Explain procedures to patients while considering physical and emotional needs; maintain ethical standards, including patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Calibrate and verify equipment operation at the start of the workday; notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed.
- Execute required paperwork and Radiology Information System functions for each patient exam, including exam scheduling, completion, and image transfer to PACS as applicable.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist, following hospital and departmental contrast administration policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and in-services; maintain continuing education requirements in accordance with Massachusetts State licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) requirements.
- May oversee and instruct various personnel and technology students within the department (medical radiography, CT, nuclear medicine).
- Prepare and stock equipment rooms and supplies needed for daily operations.
- Participate in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects conducted within the department.
- Assume responsibilities for on-call coverage and remain flexible in shift coverage needs as required.
- Transport and transfer patients using established procedures and departmental guidelines.
- Perform other duties as directed.
