Job Summary:
A CT Technologist position is available in the New York area. This role involves performing computed tomography (CT) procedures according to prescribed protocols, ensuring high-quality imaging, and maintaining safety standards. The position requires a qualified professional dedicated to patient assessment and radiation safety, working day shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, minimum of 37.5 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an JCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) approved School of Radiologic Technology; valid New York State License (L.R.T); certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and CT; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; at least 1 year of CT experience

• Responsibilities:
  • Utilize appropriate kilovolt (kV) and milliampere (mA) techniques for quality diagnostic CT imaging
  • Perform daily quality control calibration checks on equipment before patient studies
  • Inject radiopharmaceuticals as ordered, following prescribed protocols
  • Document all department activities accurately, including logs, manuals, and equipment issues
  • Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and safety testing in accordance with radiation safety guidelines to adhere to the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle
  • Maintain and retrieve patient films and electronic data for radiologists interpretation
  • Order radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use and verify receipt and activity levels on delivery day
• Additional Information: This role requires competency in radiopharmaceutical handling, diagnostic imaging, and safety testing. Candidates should exercise good judgment in assessing patient needs and respond effectively during procedures.
