Job Summary
CT Technologist Location: unspecified. This position involves performing diagnostic computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures in a Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The role requires supporting patient care and safety while utilizing advanced imaging technology to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

Job Details

• Position Description: The CT scan technologist, under the supervision of the Medical Director, Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in patient evaluation and care in a high-volume environment. Responsibilities include conducting CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (including those in intensive care), research patients, and patients needing specialized CT-guided procedures. The technologist practices and enforces radiation safety per New York State Department of Health code part 16.
• Required Qualifications: Education must include graduation from an approved two-year American Medical Association (AMA) Radiologic Technology School and a high school diploma. Must possess New York State registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit to practice in New York, be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and CPR/AED certification. No minimum experience required.
• Schedule: Saturday-Monday, 8:00 AM 8:30 PM, with no on-call responsibilities, three 12-hour shifts per week.
• Additional Information: The technologist will be performing CT exams on various patient types (outpatients, inpatients, research, and specialized procedures). The role involves practicing radiation safety according to state regulations. Multiple shifts are involved, and the position is a replacement for permanent staff.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
