Description

Job Summary
The CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist position is based in the specialty of radiologic technology, located within the CT department. This role involves performing complex CT procedures, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures. The position requires active engagement in patient safety, technical accuracy, and collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure efficient imaging services.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 PM 7:00 AM, with 8 hours shifts and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program, NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Diagnostic Radiography License, ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist (R) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, 0.0 Years of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license, knowledge of Epic and hospital HIS/RIS systems, Six months CT experience preferred.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Performs detailed CT procedures, ensuring patient preparation and safety.
    • Uses professional judgment to review and document clinical history and scan into PACS.
    • Identifies, administers, and verifies contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
    • Communicates effectively with physicians to clarify prescriptions and verify insurance authorization.
    • Provides explanations and instructions to patients, addresses questions, and manages adverse reactions.
    • Conducts venipuncture, maintains IV patency, and ensures patient immobilization during scans.
    • Monitors patient condition throughout procedures and documents all necessary information.
    • Maintains certification requirements, adheres to departmental policies, and participates in on-call duties when required.
    • Lifts, pushes, pulls, and stands for extended periods during shift.
