Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a healthcare setting. This position involves providing basic and critical respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, with the ability to work independently and oversee delegated tasks. The role requires delivering respiratory therapy for patients with respiratory diseases, documenting treatments, and participating in department operations to ensure quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Location: Ukiah, California
• Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications may require Bachelor's); Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential; Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in CA; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification; minimum 2 years recent critical care experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Essential Functions:
  • Assess and document appropriateness of prescribed therapy
  • Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy and maintain charts
  • Draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician order
  • Provide care to ventilator patients
  • Assist in department record keeping and supervise new employees
  • Document treatments and generate records for charges or record keeping
  • Instruct nursing staff on surveillance of patients and equipment
  • Perform pulmonary function tests and drainage procedures
  • Provide patient and family education on cardio respiratory disease
  • Conduct rounds to check respiratory equipment and ensure ventilator bundle compliance
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and setup
  • Support physicians during bronchoscopies and special procedures
  • Participate in quality control, staff scheduling, and competency assessments
