Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing intensive respiratory care, evaluating patients, and recommending treatment plans within the scope of professional license. The position requires comprehensive patient care, equipment operation, patient education, and collaboration with medical staff to ensure effective respiratory therapy services.

Job Details

• Position Description: Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory therapy and patient transport as prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures, and educating patients upon discharge.

• Conducts physician-prescribed treatments using ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers to administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.

• Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and routine review of chest x-rays.

• Performs 12-Lead electrocardiogram (ECG) and basic arrhythmia recognition, as well as pulmonary function studies like NIF and VC.

• Assists with procedures such as bronchoscopy, Perc Trachs, chest tube placement, and performs tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.

• Performs arterial puncture, monitors ventilation efficiency, and records test results.

• Follows policies for laboratory testing, specimen handling, equipment use, and quality control.

• Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.

• Responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring mechanical ventilation and ventilatory equipment, including self-testing and preventive maintenance.

• Records treatment data and patient responses, communicates treatment effectiveness with physicians, and maintains accurate respiratory therapy records.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), specialized training in pediatric respiratory care, relevant license, and 0 years of experience required.

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.

• Additional Information: No additional clinical or operational details beyond role responsibilities.

• Float: Float rotation may be required.
