Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Location: not specified. This role involves evaluating and providing specialized respiratory care for pediatric and adult patients within a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center. The position requires critical thinking and decisive judgment to work independently in a high-pressure environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; Respiratory Care Practitioner credential from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee; Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care; High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or an Associates degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable experience.
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Provides evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, develops and implements treatment plans based on diagnoses, monitors patient conditions and equipment, performs advanced respiratory care modalities, educates patients and families, and responds to emergency resuscitation team codes.
- Additional Information: Requires critical thinking skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and adherence to Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment.
- Submission Requirements: Professionals must submit an Ascension Profile, two professional references, and complete the Ascension Skills Checklist.
