Job Summary
The CT Technologist position is located in the CT specialty. This role involves performing complex computed tomography (CT) procedures, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging while adhering to safety and clinical protocols.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 PM 7:30 AM, with 40 hours per week and required weekend shifts.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program, High School diploma or equivalent, NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License, ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, radiological positioning, mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware, and proficiency with PACS system.
- Maintains continuing education credits and is expected to achieve ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of hire.
- Preferred Qualifications: Six months of CT experience, knowledge of Epic and other HIS/RIS systems.
- Responsibilities:
- Performs complex CT procedures and reviews patient clinical history for procedures
- Prepares and screens patients, verifies prescriptions, and communicates with physicians for clarification or modification
- Administers contrast media as prescribed and monitors patient during procedures
- Operates imaging equipment, evaluates radiographs, and ensures proper patient preparation
- Performs venipuncture, IV maintenance, and manages patient safety during scans
- Ensures compliance with hospital policies, documents procedures accurately, and adheres to organizational standards
- Includes overtime and on-call as needed; lifts weight as required for patient safety and equipment handling
- Communicates effectively with diverse patient populations, addressing individual needs
