Job Description:

The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons and other healthcare professionals in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include assisting in the OR with a variety of surgeries such as laparoscopic, bariatric, orthopedic, neuro, uro, GYN, and ENT procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the surgeon during the operative procedure and carry out pre- and post-operative duties to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Prepare surgical equipment and ensure all necessary tools are sterile and ready for use.
• Participate in the assessment and plan of care for surgical patients.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficiency during operations.

Requirements:

• Valid RN license with RNFA certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications through AHA required.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification via CCI preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems, particularly Cerner.
