Job Description:

The RN in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is responsible for managing high acuity patients post-cardiac surgery, including procedures such as IABP, CRRT, and ECMO. The nurse will be expected to float to other ICUs and Tele units as required, providing a patient ratio of 4:1 on Tele. The role demands strong IV skills and the ability to maintain a sterile field during procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to CVICU patients with high acuity needs
• Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions or side effects
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float to other ICUs and Tele units, as needed

Requirements:

• ACLS and BLS Certification
• Level I Trauma experience is mandatory
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance
• Excellent sterile field maintenance skills
