Description
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a position within a clinical team. This role encompasses working in a fast-paced environment across multiple facilities within a designated 60-mile radius.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in various units, including PCU and IMC.
- Float among assigned facilities as needed, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to different clinical settings.
- Administer medications and manage titratable drips, including cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in acuity.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients.
- Attend orientation and training sessions as required.
- Complete documentation using the electronic health record system (EPIC).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PCU or IMC setting.
- Preferred experience in neuro care and familiarity with the EPIC charting system.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- Ability to titrate and manage various medications and drips effectively.
Patient Population
This role serves adult and geriatric patients with a wide array of diagnoses, including:
- Cardiac conditions
- Neurological disorders
- Orthopedic issues
- Oncology patients
- Renal complications
- Post-surgical cases across various specialties
- Psychiatric and detox patients
Scheduling and Expectations
- The role requires flexibility with scheduling, including the possibility of 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week period.
- Shifts are typically scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM, with rotation possibilities.
- Attendance during the orientation week is mandatory, even if portions are conducted remotely.
Additional Information
This position is situated within multiple locations in the region, primarily surrounding Colorado Springs, CO. Candidates must be responsible for securing housing within the designated 60-mile radius to meet floating requirements.
It is important to note that shift cancellations by the hospital may occur but are limited. Registered Nurses can derive satisfaction from the variety of experiences offered through this dynamic role.
