Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team within the acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients across multiple units, including but not limited to PCU and IMC specialties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in various specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, and more.
  • Float within a designated 60-mile radius zone as required.
  • Manage and titrate various intravenous medications, including cardiac drips, insulin, and other medications.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and procedures.
  • Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner using electronic medical record systems.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PCU/IMC setting is required.
  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
  • Comfortable titrating and managing cardiac drips, insulin, Ativan, and Heparin.

Work Schedule

This position involves a variable schedule, including night shifts, weekend shifts, and the potential for holiday assignments. Flexibility is required to assist with filling gaps in the nursing schedule as needed.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor to ensure they are familiar with unit-specific protocols and procedures.

Additional Information

Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment and are expected to float among various specialties within the assigned zone. The ability to adapt and respond to changing patient needs is essential for success in this role.
