Description
Job Overview
A position is available in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that provides specialized care for critically ill neonates. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including conventional ventilators, high-frequency jet ventilators, high-frequency oscillators, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and nitric oxide therapy.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Level 3 NICU
- Unit Size: 41 beds, with single, double, and triple rooms
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1, with the possibility of tripling in low acuity cases
- Patient Population: All aspects of NICU care, excluding surgical and cardiac cases
Responsibilities
The NICU Nurse will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care to sick neonates and managing complex medical equipment as required. Daily duties include monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, providing support to families, and collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a NICU setting preferred
- Previous Travel Experience: Not required
- Certifications: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and BLS (Basic Life Support) are required
Work Schedule
- Weekend Requirements: Preferred but not required
- Holiday Requirements: Not required
- Call Requirements: None
