Description
General Information
We are currently seeking skilled Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team. The following information outlines the requirements and specifics of the position.
Unit Details
- Beds: 56
- Patient Type: Adults with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors.
- Patient Ratios:
- PCU/Tele RN: 1:4 (Days/Nights)
- Med/Surg RN: 1:5 (Days/Nights)
- CNA: 1:8 (Days/Nights)
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience: 1 year nursing experience in PCU or Telemetry.
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- Must have experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration, CIWA, drain/tube management, and catheter insertion/management.
- Preferred Skills: Strong clinical judgement, effective communication, comprehensive physical assessments, and a positive attitude.
Work Environment
Travelers are encouraged to apply, provided they have relevant experience. The staffing model emphasizes teamwork, where RNs may work alongside LPNs on the unit. It is crucial for RNs to be comfortable with collaborative care practices, including shared patient loads and task swapping.
Additional Information
- Orientation: 2 days of classroom/online education followed by 2 shifts with a preceptor.
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend commitment is expected.
- Holiday Expectations: Staff are required to work every other holiday during the contracted timeframe.
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Support on the Unit: Dedicated resources include available nursing staff, respiratory therapy, and centralized telemetry monitoring.
