Description
Position Overview
Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit. The position requires expertise in neuro and trauma care with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 44 beds
- Number of Staff: 95 staff members
- Patient Ratios: 4 patients per RN at grid, 5 patients per RN stretched
Typical Shift Staffing
- Day Shift: 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night Shift: 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
Required Skills and Certifications
- Mandatory:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Neuro and Trauma Care experience
- Preferred: Additional neuro and trauma care experience is a plus.
Typical Procedures Performed
- Neuro and spinal checks
- C-Collar placement, TLSO braces
- Chest tube insertion, PCA pump management, IV infusions
- Lumbar drain management
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusion administration

Floating Areas
May float to Stepdown units and Med-Surg units as needed.
Dress Code
Scrub Color/Attire: Navy blue scrubs.
Weekend Requirements
Position requires work every other weekend.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience is required.
