Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Unit Staffing: 2-3 technicians per shift, clinical coordinator (days vary), charge nurse, manager, and director
• Type of Equipment: Wound vac, heparin gtt, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanner, feeding pump, telemetry
• Documentation System: Editech

Scheduling and Policies

• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation is required.
• Staff may float between units as needed.

Patient Experience Requirements

A positive attitude is essential. Candidates should be prepared to meet the needs of patients and families, perform service recovery as necessary, and escalate any concerns through the appropriate channels.

Qualifications

• Required Skills: IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Procedures Performed: Lab draws, IV starts
• Certifications: BLS required

Dress Code

Navy scrubs are required; fleece or sweatshirts are not permitted.
