Unit Information

Join our 24-bed Progressive Care Unit located in Thornton, CO. Our unit is designed to provide advanced monitoring and care for patients requiring higher levels of observation and intervention.

General Information

• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: Charge Nurse, 4-5 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • Night Shift: Charge Nurse, 4-5 RNs, 2 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 5 patients per RN
• Equipment: Telemetry monitoring and post-operative monitoring systems
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech / CPN

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of current acute care hospital experience in a Progressive Care Unit
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in cardiac care
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures

• Post-operative recovery for surgical patients including those from the cardiac catheterization lab
• Management of post-operative orthopedic patients (spine and joint surgeries)

Additional Information

This is a brand new, state-of-the-art unit with a positive work culture fostering excellent teamwork and collaboration. The unit is equipped with ADA-compliant bariatric rooms and in-room Hoyer lifts for patient safety. Nursing staff will manage a diverse patient population including elective orthopedic, spine, gynecological surgeries, as well as various cardiac procedures such as post-PCI, pacemaker, ablation, and re-vascularization patients.

Our modified self-scheduling process allows for flexibility, with schedule postings available three weeks in advance, enabling ample time for staff to arrange trades as needed.
