General Information
Join a dedicated team within a dynamic healthcare environment located in Kansas City, MO. The Stroke & Brain Unit offers a supportive atmosphere for nursing professionals focused on providing high-quality patient care.
Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 16
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- Unit Staffing: Includes tech support
- Type of Equipment: Welch Allyn VS Machines, Hoyer lift, Sarah Steady Lift, Telemetry, Bladder Scanner, Doppler
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 shifts per week; 3-4 weekend shifts
- Floating Policy: Agency and contract staff may be floated to areas where they have demonstrated competency.
Patient Experience Requirements
Experience in Telemetry and Stroke care is essential.
Qualifications
- Requested Skill Set: Cardiac drips, telemetry, and neurology experience
- Must Have: NIHSS, Stroke experience, ACLS certification
- Advanced Skills Needed: Cardiac drips, basic dysthymia
- Certifications Required: NIHSS, ACLS, BLS
Dress Code
Uniform: Navy Blue scrubs are required.

The pay was the only thing that was lacking. But that is what it was! No regrets about working there! Also the housing situation was not great. But that has nothing to do with the facility!
