Description
Job Description
The MRI Technologist demonstrates a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MRI safety, and medical terminology. They perform MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer contrast agents at the direction of the radiologist in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Ensure the delivery of quality care in a safe environment for patients ranging from infants to adults.
- Maintain sensitivity to the physical, cultural, and emotional needs of patients through effective communication, patient assessment, monitoring, and care skills, ensuring a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory approach.
- Engage in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, technical competence, and promote lifelong learning.
- Utilize independent, professional, and ethical judgment, along with critical thinking in the execution of duties.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a non-degree program from an approved AMA Radiologic Technology program or MRI certificate program is required.
- General relevant experience is required.
- Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist (R) (MR) is required.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
