Description
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least 18 months of experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting and must possess a strong background in emergency care and neuro nursing.
Unit Information
This position is located in a Neuro Telemetry unit with a total of 32 beds. The RN will provide care to a diverse patient population, including individuals with tracheostomies, cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs), traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), spinal surgeries, and various neurological issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care within the Neuro Telemetry unit.
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.
- Perform and interpret EKGs as part of patient assessments.
- Administer medications, including titration of intravenous drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin).
- Engage in bedside reporting and multidisciplinary care planning.
- Complete relevant educational programs for lifts, restraints, and wound care.
- Participate in SIMs Lab training for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
Qualifications
- Must have experience in a Level 1 Trauma unit.
- At least 18 months of clinical experience required.
- Neuro experience is highly preferred.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
- Ability to demonstrate competency in maintaining a sterile field.
Schedule and Availability
This position requires the RN to work 12-hour shifts with a commitment of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. Holiday coverage will be based on unit needs.
Additional Information
- The role includes floating to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units as needed.
- Training includes a 2-day floor-specific orientation.
- Cancellations may occur for up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.

The unit operates in a fast-paced environment with a high patient turnover. Successful candidates will need to adapt quickly to a dynamic work setting while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
