General Information
Join our dynamic Emergency Department team, where we pride ourselves on providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. We serve a diverse, multicultural community and utilize advanced technology to support excellent patient outcomes.
Unit Specifics
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: typically 4:1 medical, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Unit Staffing: Techs available for cardiac monitoring and internal processing; unit clerks on duty both days and nights
- Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend; flexible scheduling to meet departmental needs
- Floating Policy: Must be open to floating within all sections of the Emergency Department
- Patient Experience Standards: Adhere to AIDET principles, provide respectful care, and keep patients informed throughout their visit
Hiring Profile
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years as a registered nurse, including at least 1 year in an emergency department setting. Previous experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center preferred.
- Skills: Teamwork mentality and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in all areas of the ED
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (all required prior to start date), ENPC within 90 days of hire
Dress Code
Required uniform: Navy scrubs

- Attendance policy will be provided on the first day of work.
